Nominate | St John Ambulance Everyday Heroes

A St John Ambulance panel will be selecting several standout individuals to be recognised at the Everyday Heroes celebration evening on the 24 September 2018 at Hilton London Bankside Hotel. The overview below outlines what the panel will be looking for in each area category.

Applications for each category should address the following questions:

  • What happened and which first aid skill was used?
  • What was the immediate impact of their actions?
  • What was the wider impact of their actions?

Nominations have now closed.

Details of how to nominate for the 2019 awards will be announced next year - follow St John Ambulance on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates.

Guy Evans Young Heroes

Guy Evans Young Hero of the Year Award, (in memory of Guy Evans), recognises an extraordinary young person, under the age of 18, who has saved a life with first aid or has made an extraordinary first aid achievement. This award is in honour of Guy Evans, who died when first aid might have given him a chance to live.

Workplace Heroes

An individual or team of people that has used first aid to save a life or made an extraordinary first aid achievement whilst at work (this can be on a colleague or visitor to the workplace).

Community Heroes

Community Heroes recognises an individual or team of people who have used first aid to make a difference in a specific community scenario, or has made an extraordinary first aid achievement in their community over a period of time.

A pillar in their community, they will have gone the extra mile to have a positive impact on an individual, group, or the community as a whole, by using first aid in their community or by extensive first aid education, campaigning, or fundraising for lifesaving community equipment. If the nomination refers to a specific first aid incident, individuals may include family members, teachers, or carers.

More information can be found in our entry regulations.

The St John Ambulance Everyday Heroes Awards also celebrates our volunteers who make it all possible. On the evening, we also announce our Volunteer of the Year and Lifetime Contribution to St John Volunteering awards.
