Restart a Heart Day

Learn CPR, act fast, save lives.

Restart a Heart Day 2025 is now over

Led by Resuscitation Council UK, Restart a Heart is an annual initiative which aims to increase the number of people surviving out-of-hospital cardiac arrests by helping more people learn CPR.

Anyone can be affected by a cardiac arrest at any time. Without immediate action, the person will die. Being confident to perform CPR will ensure that in the ultimate medical emergency, you can save a life at home, school, work, or in public.

Did you know?

80% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen at home. Would you know what to do? It only takes a short amount of time to brush up on your first aid knowledge, and it could save someone's life.

Why is Restart a Heart important?

CPR is a skill for everyone. During a cardiac arrest, we all have the chance to make a difference. Every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces the chance of survival by 10%. Let's make sure everyone feels confident and ready to act when every second counts.

How can I get involved?

There are still plenty of ways for you to get involved, even though Restart a Heart Day 2025 has come to a close. You could check out our online advice or watch our video on how to give CPR. And of course, put Restart a Heart Day 2026 in your calendar!
