St John Ambulance is the nation’s leading first aid charity.

Every year, 400,000 people learn how to save a life through our training programmes, including hundreds of thousands of young people.

Our volunteers provide first aid in their communities, keeping people safe at events, and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls.

The Role

This is a unique role in which you will be responsible for administering the caseload of charitable legacies as well as assisting the Senior Legal Advisor in the day-to-day running of the Legal Department. Main responisbilities include:

  • Investigating outstanding charitable bequests.
  • Reviewing estate accounts and ensuring completion of tax deduction certificates.
  • Giving instructions to executors in relation to land and investments.
  • Reviewing Commercial and Property Contracts.
  • Assisting with Data Protection issues, including Subject Access Requests.
  • Liaising with external advisors where appropriate.
  • General administration relating to Legal issues.
  • Deputising for the Senior Legal Advisor.
