Programme Manager (Community Health Response)
About the Role
St John Ambulance has been operating in communities across England for 140 years. In 2019 our newly created Community Operations Division is looking for a Programme Manager as we embark on the next step of our clinical and operational development. With a real understanding of how urgent and community healthcare is delivered in England you will be working across local health communities with ambulance services, clinical commissioning groups and providers to agree the SJA contribution to providing emergency and scheduled local health care. You will manage our project to deliver “community healthcare” volunteers ensuring that our plans are agile and responsive and whilst led nationally, are delivered locally with the communities served.

You will have demonstrable experience in planning and developing services. This role will have national influence across SJA and you will play a key part in the next stage of our development as the nations first aid charity.
St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, providing first aid, keeping people safe at events and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls. Much of our front-line delivery is provided by our dedicated and highly-trained volunteers.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people, many of them under 18, also learn how to save a life through our training, education and youth programmes.
