First Aid Awareness Week coming soon
What better time to learn how to
save a life than during First Aid Awareness Week? (2-9 February
2009).
The awareness week coincides with the launch of the ninth
edition of the best selling First
Aid Manual which outlines how to deal with
more than 100 medical conditions and injuries and the book
is set to be released on Monday 2 February.
St John Ambulance is encouraging people to learn first aid
and buy a copy of the manual which is published by Dorling
Kindersley (DK), and is co-written by the UK’s three leading first
aid societies: St John Ambulance, St Andrew’s Ambulance and the
British Red Cross.
The fully illustrated guide which outlines ways
of treating casualties in emergency situations has been full
revised and is the only comprehensive book on the
market with the most up-to-date guidelines and advice. The
Health and Safety Executive lists it as the source for first aid
protocols to which all workplace first aiders in the UK have to be
trained.
We want to empower everyone to know what to do in an emergency. First aid is easy if you know what to do.

emergency. First aid is easy if you know what to do. You can go on
a course to learn from the experts or buy the new manual which
provides a simple step-by-step guide to how to deal with many
different situations. No home should be without one.’
