Shropshire's response to the flooding
Twenty volunteers from St John Ambulance in Shropshire were
actively involved in supporting the public in Shropshire,
Herefordshire and Worcestershire from Saturday morning until Monday
morning.
Six emergency vehicles – three ambulances and three 4x4s - were
deployed over the weekend and members helped assist with
evacuations of residents and nursing homes that were being
threatened by the rising flood waters of the river Severn.
In addition to the assistance given to these areas, Shropshire
volunteers continued to provide first aid cover at local
events.
