The Great British Duck Race

duck race

The Great British Duck Race is set to take place this Sunday 31 August will see rubber ducks take to the water to race down a dedicated 1km course of the River Thames at Molesey Lock, near Hampton Court Palace.

Last year event saw 165,000 ducks racing down the Thames raising over £100,000 for 440 charities including St John Ambulance. This year organisers hope to smash the world record again by racing a quarter of a million little ducks!

Be part of the fun! Adopt a racing duck. It costs just £2 to adopt a duck (plus a recommended donation of £3 to St John Ambulance). There are 30 top prizes, and first prize is a fantastic £10,000. Supporters are not restricted to one duck and can buy as many as they like. Encourage friends, family and colleagues. The more ducks we sell, the more money raised for St John Ambulance. Everyone has a chance of winning!

Rosie Myres, Special Events Fundraiser for St John Ambulance says: ‘We are so pleased to be involved with this unique event that helps to raise funds for so many worthy causes’.

St John Ambulance has registered it’s very own page which is now live on The Great British Duck Race website and can be easily accessed to purchase your duck. For more information on this great event please visit www.thegreatbritishduckrace.com.
