Free festive fun pack for children
St John Ambulance in Hampshire has
launched a Christmas mini-comic for youngsters,
packed with activities that entertain as well as
educate about first aid.
The free First Aid
Friends At Christmas download contains colour-me-in
images, picture puzzles, dot-to-dots and a Christmas wordsearch, as
well as a 'spot the first aid kit' brainteaser.
The seasonal giveaway follows a 16-page full
colour comic produced by Hampshire during the summer. Titled First
Aid Friends, the comic features the adventures of children Tom and
Ella, who put their first aid skills to to the test when their
accident-prone cartoon friend Clifton the Clumsy manages to hurt
himself in a variety of scenarios.
The original comic proved so successful in Hampshire that the
idea has since been adopted by other St John Ambulance counties,
including Oxfordshire, Devon and Suffolk.
‘My own children gave me the idea for the original and we have
been thrilled by its success,' says Siobhan Hand of St John
Ambulance in Hampshire, who put together both publications. 'It
really is a fun way to introduce children and their families to
first aid!’
