Volunteers on hand at Luton International Carnival
Over 85 dedicated volunteers from all over Bedfordshire will be
on hand to provide first aid support at this years Luton
International Carnival on Bank Holiday Monday.
Three treatment centres – at Wardown Park, Moor Park and King
Street, as well as members on foot along the carnival route and
around the sound stages will be set up for the special event which
attracts around 150,000 people. These areas will be manned by 40
first aiders.

Along with colleagues in East of England Ambulance
Service, seven St John Ambulances and an EEAS cycle responder
will be provided. Paramedics and nurses will also be on hand
for anyone in need of advanced medical care.

Bedfordshire said: 'This is the biggest single event in the
calendar for Luton Borough Council and members of St John Ambulance
are proud to be part of it, bringing the skills and experience of
comparable events like Notting Hill Carnival in London.
'We are looking forward to a 'peaceful' event, and hope that
everyone who comes has a safe and enjoyable day.'
