St John Ambulance called into action as heavy snow worsens
St John Ambulance volunteers and vehicles
have been called into action across the country as
heavy snow sweeps the UK.
‘We currently have over 80 vehicles and 160
volunteers providing support to the statutory ambulance
services’ said Howard Rayner, Operations Support Adviser from St
John Ambulance.
‘The majority of these vehicles are our 4x4 ambulances which are
better able to cope with the treacherous conditions and we will
continue to be there to support the communities in need for as long
as we are needed.’

major accidents each year and plays a crucial role in supporting
the emergency services when help is needed, for example at the
summer floods of 2007 and the 7/7 attacks in
London.
