Emily Blunt
Star of the show Emily Blunt has said 'I'm delighted to help
raise awareness of St John Ambulance. Since being set up during
Queen Victoria's reign, they’ve worked tirelessly to ensure
everyone has access to first aid treatment. Their 43,000 volunteers
are committed to training, caring and saving lives at events across
the country, and the work they do in supporting the emergency
services at times of crisis is invaluable. As the nation’s leading
first aid charity, we should all be proud to support St John
Ambulance'.
St John Ambulance Director of Fundraising Alastair Mulvie
commented: 'We are delighted that John Ambulance has been chosen to
benefit from this event. It’s a wonderful opportunity to raise
awareness of our important life saving work and gives our
supporters the chance to attend a world film premiere while raising
much-needed funds at the same time.
'We are grateful to Momentum and all those involved in the
production for this opportunity and we look forward to seeing our
supporters on the red carpet!'
Queen Victoria's association with St John
St John Ambulance has a long association with Queen Victoria as
it was in 1888 that the Queen herself granted the Order of St John,
the parent body of St John Ambulance, a charter of incorporation in
recognition of its pioneering first aid work, making it a British
Royal Order of Chivalry with the reigning monarch as its sovereign
head.
