Support in Blackpool hotel blaze
St John Ambulance volunteers have sprung into action as a Blackpool hotel was destroyed in a fire.
Special Olympics support
Over 2,500 athletes at the 2009 Special Olympics are competing safely thanks to the first aid support of St John Ambulance and the British Red Cross.

On Tuesday 14 July at 11am St John Ambulance Hertfordshire member, Alan Popplewell, became a work of art with a difference by demonstrating first aid to around 200 people from the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square.
Responder helps save river man
A volunteer Emergency Responder in Bristol was the first on the scene to treat a man who had fallen into the River Avon off of Coronation Road.
Flower show support
St John Ambulance volunteers were proud to offer their first aid expertise at the RHS flower show at Hampton Court Palace last week.
Volunteer is work of art
Volunteer Alan Popplewell, will become a walking, talking work of art, by stepping onto the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square, London, and demonstrating first aid to the crowd, as part of Antony Gormley’s ‘One and Other’ project.
