Sky 1’s the limit for Resusci Anne and
friends
Sky 1’s daytime show, Angela and
Friends, had a special guest appearance this week from
Resusci Anne, helping demonstrate how knowing first aid can save a
life.
TV celebrities learn CPR
The weekday programme, presented by
the actress Angela Griffin with the help
of celebrity co-presenters, was raising awareness for National
Heart Month. As part of the slot they asked St John Ambulance to
help with a CPR demonstration. TV medic Dr
Christian Jesson and co-presenter Amanda Lamb went through
the procedure step by step to show how easy it was to learn.
TV shows such as Angela and Friends are a really effective way to get across the message that learning this simple life saving skill can make a difference.

Training Development Manager
Among Angela’s friends was DJ Sara
Cox who commented that she had done a first aid
course because she has children and wanted to make sure
she knew what to do if an accident should happen.
Sara said: ‘I was told if you’re somewhere
busy, like a shopping centre, people might come up to you and tell
you to do it differently and intervene – just ignore them and keep
doing it.’
Accompanying Resusci Anne was our first aid
expert Clive James who was there to give life saving tips to the
presenters during rehearsals, and it proved to be an
excellent way to show how first aid is such an important life
skill.
Clive James, Training Development Manager, said: ‘TV shows such
as Angela and Friends are a really effective way to get across the
message that learning this simple life saving skill can
make a difference, especially as you never know when you
might need it. However there is no substitute for formal
training and we urge everyone to book themselves onto
a course today.'
