Adult volunteers

First aid volunteers at football

Interested in becoming an adult volunteer for St John Ambulance Bradley Stoke? No experience is necessary and we will provide full training to allow you to provide first aid cover with other members at local events in the community.

To become a member just email us and we can agree on a suitable Wednesday evening meeting where you can see if it is right for you.

We have multiple roles available, ranging from first aider to non-operational support roles, to allow you to become a part of our team.

Meetings

We meet weekly on Wednesday evenings. We have a varied programme including not only first aid, but also guest speakers and social events.

Training

When you first join, you will be invited to attend a member induction session to learn about St John Ambulance and learn basic skills.

Once your membership has been approved you will be able to attend the following sessions to allow you to go on duty:

  • Introduction to first aid
  • Manual handling for first aiders
  • Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults

To treat patients, you will also complete a first aider course and assessment and we will provide you with full supplies and a uniform.

Events

We provide first aid cover at a range of local events, e.g. Pilning Carnival, Bristol MINI Day and Dragon Tang Soo Do tournaments. In addition we support regional events including the Bristol and Bath Half Marathons, the Harbour Festival and the Weston Beach Race.
