Card competition proves a winner for Rebecca
Christmas has come early for a young St
John Ambulance member from Thatcham after the design she entered
into the charity’s annual Christmas card competition was selected
as the winner.
Really proud
Rebecca Chandler, age 9 is a member of the
Newbury and Thatcham Badger Sett for 5 to 10 year olds and entered
the competition alongside over one hundred other children from
across the country.
To have Rebecca's card design chosen over and above so many others is a real achievement and to think that her name will now appear on cards being delivered all over the country is very special.

Commissioner Youth, Berkshire
‘We are
really proud of Rebecca,’ said Russell Wernham,
Commissioner Youth for St John Ambulance Berkshire. ‘To have her
card design chosen over and above so many others is a
real
achievement and to think that her name will now appear on
cards being delivered all over the country is very special.’
Her winning design showing
Santa and his reindeer
was chosen by the staff of the youth department at St John
Ambulance’s national headquarters in London and will now be used on
the
front of all Christmas cards sent by the youth
department themselves, the Chief Executive and the Chief
Commander.
The Prior, who is the most senior member of the organisation,
will also be using the card as his own personal Christmas card.
