Half marathon help
St John Ambulance members were
on hand last weekend to provide first aid for the 2600
runners taking part in the Wokingham Half
Marathon.
Berkshire also provided two ambulances for the race and set up
five first aid posts around the route where
runners could stop and receive treatment if they needed it. Amongst
the 48 volunteers were six Cadets who, until they
have received full training, may only attend events under adult
supervision.
The Wokingham Half Marathon is our first big duty of the year and we had a lovely day for it. Fortunately no serious injuries were reported.

St John will be providing 12 first aiders for
the Reading Half Marathon on 2 March.
