Volunteering For Young People

We believe that every young person should have the opportunity
to learn basic life saving skills.
St John Ambulance offers all young people the opportunity to
participate in our youth groups, whether you’re aged five or
25.
Badgers
If you're aged between five and 10, you can
join Badgers. Learn first aid, have fun
and you could even become a Super
Badger! Cumbria has Badger Setts located in
Barrow-In-Furness, Carlisle, Kendal, Maryport, Ulverston and
Whitehaven.
Cadets
10 to 16-year-olds
can become Cadets. You’ll get the best first aid training,
and a wide choice of other activities. You'll never be stuck for
something to do. We have Cadet groups based in Barrow-In-Furness,
Carlisle, Kendal, Maryport, Ulverston and Whitehaven.
LINKS
If you attend the University of Cumbria you can join
our LINKS unit. Our University
of Cumbria LINKS unit meets at Fusehill
Street Campus in Carlisle.
Youth Leaders
If you're older, but you have what it takes to inspire
young people, we have vacancies for youth
leaders. To find out more about becoming a youth volunteer in
Cumbria, email
Angela Cooke or call 01228 528684 and select option 2.
