Providing care for others

St John Ambulance Dorset provides a Carers Support Programme to help people in a caring role.

The programme is led, developed and delivered by a dedicated team of experienced registered nurses. It is accredited by The Royal College of Nursing and supported by Dorset County Council.

Is this for you?

  • Would you like the opportunity to gain more skills and knowledge to help you in your caring role?
  • Would you like training in basic first aid, safer moving and handling, falls prevention, managing continence and stress management?
  • Would you like to meet other carers to share experiences, advice and ideas?
  • Are you over the age of 18 and provide care for a member of your family, a friend or a neighbour?

When and where?

The programme is delivered at various locations throughout Dorset during four morning sessions over four consecutive weeks followed by a buffet lunch.

Cost?

The programme and buffet lunch are provided totally free of charge
