Grand draw winners announced!
The annual St John Ambulance
Dorset grand draw took place this week and winners
were chosen by Mrs Caroline Matthews, Sett Leader of Dorchester
Badgers.
Over £2,000.00 has been raised by first aid volunteers and staff
from around the county. This money will help to buy essential first
aid equipment and provide training for the public and St
John Ambulance volunteers who attend over 3,000 community
and sports events each year.
‘Keeping our ambulances on the road, providing on-going training
for our volunteers, organising heavily subsidised first aid
training for community groups and buying first aid equipment is an
expensive business,’ said Caroline Matthews. ‘We have a commitment
to the community as well as our young Cadets and Badgers, to train
as many people in first aid as we can’, she added. ‘Most people do
not know what to do in a situation where first aid can make the
difference between a life lost and one saved.’
‘We are indebted to the prize donors and the public for their
generosity and support,’ Caroline added.
The first prize of tickets from Brittany
Ferries was won by a woman in Christchurch.
Runners-up won vouchers to the Springfield Country
Hotel, Go Ape and
Goulds.
