Chelmsford Combined Divison HQ

Lancaster House in Chelmsford is our headquarters and training centre. It is shared with the Cadet division and is owned by 'The Order of St John'.

The premises

It was formerly the Essex county headquarters and western area headquarters. Its features are:

  • a large meeting hall/ training room, divisible into two rooms when separate course or assessments are in progress
  • another training room upstairs which is also used for meetings
  • members kitchen
  • several store rooms for Cadet and adult divisions
  • divisional office
  • ambulance garages with seven bays situated at the rear of the building
  • car parking is available in the yard
  • parts of the building are hired out daily when St John is not using them to provide income to maintain the premises

Visitors should park in the yard as the road is a residents only parking area for much of the day.

We also have a fleet of vehicles that help us provide the best service possible.
