First aid training

Harlow first aid course

St John Ambulance in Harlow offer first aid training for local groups. We offer a range of community first aid courses which can be tailored to your requirements.  Please contact us if you have a first aid training requirement.

Emergency life support - child and infant

This is a three hour course which teaches techniques suitable for use on children and infants and covers:

  • resuscitation
  • choking
  • severe bleeding
  • uunconscious casualties
  • communication and casualty care
  • primary survey.

Emergency life support - adult

This is a three hour course which covers the topics listed above, plus chest pain.  The techniques taught are those for adult casualties.

Emergency life support - all ages

This is a four hour course which covers all the topics described above.

Basic first aid

This is a three hour course and does not include resuscitation but includes how to deal with more common injuries, such as bites and stings, strains and sprains and fainting.
