Duties

LINKS members are fully qualified members of St. John Ambulance, and thus are able to provide First Aid Cover at your event - whether on or off campus.

First aid cover at your event

The University of Essex LINKS regularly provides event cover for the Student's Union for both the university night clubs and university sporting tournaments and will be seen at large events on campus such as Freshers Week, Derby Day, Alumni Weekend, The End and the Summerball. LINKS also provides cover beyond the grounds of Wivenhoe Park, either covering external events of our own or assisting local units across the county with events such as Colchester football matches and the SOS bus or nightclub events in Southend.

As a voluntary organisation we do not need to pay our members wages, ensuring that we are able to provide quotes at very competitive rates. We also are able to call on the resources of other local units to provide ambulances, mobile first aid posts, or other equipment. In addition to our normal events we have also recently provided cover at the Chelmsford V festival, Southend Festival of Air, UEA hosted Derby Day and the visit of HM Queen Elizabeth II to our campus in 2004.
