Transport Services

Transport Service Vehicles

Co-ordinated by a dedicated control team using a modern fleet of specialist vehicles, St John Ambulance Greater Manchester provides the essential service for any NHS Trust or private sector customer requiring the transportation of patients to anywhere within the UK.

Transport Services can provide a short notice ad hoc service or are equally experienced in handling block bookings or service level agreements.

We have considerable experience in dealing with repatriations arriving by sea, rail or air. Paediatric and neonatal retrieval services are also readily available; all types of incubators are catered for.

Dr Ian Dady, Consultant Neonatal and Clinical Leader for the Greater Manchester Neonatal Transport Service said: 'We provide inter-hospital transfer for severely ill and extremely preterm infants across the whole of the 13 Hospitals in Greater Manchester Neonatal Network.

'I have found the ambulance staff have a very helpful, flexible, and professional approach, with a good standard of driving. They have communicated appropriately and supported our Neonatal Transport team extremely well. The vehicles themselves are modern, clean and well equipped. I have had a very positive experience from our use of St John Ambulance and the staff commitment and flexibility have particularly impressed me.'
