First aid drop in at Havant
Volunteers from Havant’s St John
Ambulance team will be out in force at the Meridian Shopping Centre
as part of the difference campaign.
Remarkable work
The campaign was launched in April and aims to
increase the number of trained first aiders so more people can make
the difference between a life lost and a
life saved.
Claire Adams, Fundraising Coordinator with St
John Ambulance in Havant, said:
‘We believe that everyone who needs first aid
should receive it from those around them.’
This is a perfect chance for our members to share their skills and knowledge with the general public.
Gary Oakley
St John Ambulance volunteer
On Saturday 22 May, from 9am to 5pm, local
people can take part in practical first aid training and learn
about the remarkable work of St John Ambulance volunteers, some of
whom are as young as five.
Fellow volunteer Gary Oakley added:
‘This is a perfect chance for our members to
share their skills and knowledge with the general public. You
never know when such techniques will come in handy and save a
life.’
St John volunteers hope more people will
volunteer with the charity, which is always looking for new members
and youth leaders.
Passing shoppers are urged to support the
cause, and give a few minutes of their time.
