Rain failed to dampen fair
Nearly 1500 people braved the rain on Sunday
to visit the seventh annual Bishop’s Waltham Garden Fair, which is
expected to raise over £6,500 for St John Ambulance Hampshire.
Horticultural calendar
The Garden Fair has become a firm fixture in
Hampshire’s horticultural calendar and attracted a record number of
stall holders this year selling plants, garden accessories and hand
made crafts.
It was a lovely to see so many people turn out and support us.
Joan Ferrer
Chairman, Garden Fair Committee
Hilliers Director Andy McIndoe was on hand
to provide gardening advice and to judge the best stalls – Jo's
Potting Shed, of Southampton, and Plant Supports, based in
Worcestershire.
Organiser Joan Ferrer said: 'It was a lovely
to see so many people turn out and support both the Garden Fair and
the independent nurseries and stallholders who come along each
year.
'The weather was not kind to us this year
but we had a long queue of people waiting to come in and a steady
stream of visitors of all day.'
Music was once again provided by Cuff
Billett’s New Europa Jazz Band, who strolled around the
grounds.
