Volunteers in charity football match
Members of St John Ambulance Hampshire will
face staff from South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SCAS) in
the first McLennan Memorial Trophy match on Tuesday 19 May at St
Marys Stadium.
In memory of Terry McLennan
The match is in memory of Terry McLennan
a former St John volunteer and
SCAS
employee who died
from cancer in September 2008.
Around 3,000 tickets have already been sold
and money raised from sales and the raffle will be split between
two charities, the Countess Mountbatten Hospice (who looked after
Terry) and the St Michaels Hospice (who looked after George Hodgson
another staff member who lost his battle recently).
Terry was a valued member of St John Ambulance for nine years

The family of George Hodgson said: 'We are
really happy that the colleagues and friends of George have chosen
to honour their memories in this way and we look forward to
supporting the efforts of his friends and colleagues in raising as
much money as possible for these two vital charities.'
Pat Morris, Commander of St John Ambulance
Hampshire, added: 'Terry was a valued member of St John
Ambulance for nine years, and is remembered as a good friend and
colleague.
'Tuesday’s football match is a great way to
kick start his memorial trophy – and I wish our team the very best
of luck!'
Around 3000 tickets have already been sold
however we need to sell more and would like to encourage members of
the public to come and support the two local Ambulance teams
playing at their local football stadium.
The

will be supported by the

Sirens, a
cheerleading team made up of staff members.
