Lord Abergavenny laps Brands Hatch on visit to St John Ambulance

Kent's Chairman Laps brands Hatch

Chairman of Council of St John Ambulance Kent, Lord Abergavenny, recently spent his weekend visiting Kent’s famous Brands Hatch race circuit and St John Ambulance members, who man a permanent first aid centre at the track.

An unexpected highlight of the visit was riding in the Medical Chase Car.  Lord Abergavenny was joined by Dr Paul Trafford (Chief Medical Officer for the British Touring Car Championship) in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, which was driven by a professional race driver around the circuit.

After lapping the track, Lord Abergavenny said:

‘I came to meet the St John Ambulance team and to congratulate them on the fantastic work and support they provide to Brands Hatch at every event hosted at the circuit and often in adverse weather conditions.  I didn’t expect to be taking to the race track, but despite the G Forces, it was definitely an experience I won’t forget.’
