Hole Park sets the scene for annual
fundraiser
At the end of June over 200 guests
attended St John Ambulance Kent's annual
fundraiser, which this year was hosted in the stunning
setting of Hole Park, Cranbrook.
Guests were treated to a beautiful
evening complete with jazz and picnics and thanks to the
generosity of everyone a fantastic £2,600 was
raised.
President of St John Ambulance Kent, Kathrin
Smallwood says of the evening, 'The evening was a great success and
I would like to say a huge thank
you to the mayors of Ashford and Tonbridge and
Malling and the deputy mayor of Maidstone for attending and the
generosity of all our guests.'
Guests also had the opportunity to learn more
about the charity and its 'The Difference'
campaign, which highlights the 150,000 needless deaths
each year and how a knowledge of first aid could be the difference
between a life lost and a life saved.
Kathrin continues, ‘In Kent we have a thriving
Cadet section and the money raised will help subsidise the
Cadet's Activity weekend in the Autumn, enabling over 70
young people to come together to share their St John
Ambulance experiences, learn new skills and have lots of
fun.
'Our Cadets spend many weekends volunteering
their time to attend duties across the county and provide
first aid skills to those in need, and so we're delighted
that we can repay their commitment and dedication
by helping to fund the weekend.'
