Maidstone Triumphs At First Aid Competitions
With both adult
and cadet members returning
triumphant from the Kent round of the annual
St John Ambulance Emergency Care Competitions, the
Maidstone Division has every reason to feel proud.
Hosted at Brockhill Performing Arts School, Folkestone in March,
the competition saw thirteen teams of adult
members and Cadets from across the county
demonstrate their clinical/care skills, communication skills and
overall team spirit.
Claire Saunders, officer in charge of Maidstone Cadets and who
worked with the team in the lead up to the competition, takes up
the story, ‘This year has been a fantastic success for Maidstone
and adult team member, Fiona Maycock from our Hythe Division. All
the teams from across Kent love getting involved but the
competition provides a very real benefit in terms of
improving and fine tuning the first aid skills of
all those who enter.
‘Now we’re all really looking forward to taking on the teams
from Jersey, Guernsey, Surrey and Sussex when we meet them at the
competition’s regional round on Saturday 22nd May.’
