Volunteers provide first aid training to over 11,000
members of the community
We are delighted to
announce that during 2011 St John Ambulance Kent
volunteers trained 11,055 members of the community
in first aid.
High level of community involvement
During 2011 St John Ambulance
Kent was involved in numerous highly successful
community campaigns to encourage first aid training
including attending the ‘Safety Shop’ in Bluewater
shopping centre and the national ‘Save a life
September’ campaign which involved demonstrations hosted
at four major shopping centres.
Jim Knight, Director of Training says:
‘It’s great news that we have trained so many
individuals throughout the county in the last 12 months. In total
we have trained over 7,000 youngsters, with 1,584
school children receiving Young First Aider
courses in schools. We have
also trained nearly 4,000 adults in First
Aid, 853 of which have received Essential First
Aid or Basic First Aid
certificates.’
