Grand Prior recipients meet Princess Royal
Two St John Ambulance Kent cadets
recently attended a Buckingham Palace Reception hosted by
HRH The Princess Royal.
Rebecca Kincaid from the Isle of Sheppey and Joshua
Cockett-Robinson from Northfleet were invited to join over 90 other
cadets from around the country to celebrate the completion of their
Grand Prior Award; the highest award a St John
Ambulance Cadet can achieve. The award marks at least three
years of sustained effort studying 24 different subjects -
from first aid, communication and
working in the community to social
media. Each county was able to nominate two Cadets to attend
the event.
Both Rebecca and Joshua were delighted to be chosen to represent
their county.
'Visiting Buckingham Palace and meeting The Princess Royal was
an experience that I will never forget. The
feeling of pride and achievement are the best things about being
involved with St John Ambulance. Now that I’m in the adult
division, working with Cadets and Badgers is the best part as it
gives you such a great feeling when they smile and say they’ve had
a great evening,' said Crockett-Robinson.
John Hougham, Commander of St John Ambulance Kent said:
'Rebecca and Joshua, along with all our Grand Prior recipients
work incredibly hard and demonstrate a
huge amount of dedication to St John Ambulance
when working towards their Grand Prior award. The Palace reception
is a perfect and very special way to reward them
and recognise their achievements.'
