Over 90 Badgers and Cadets enjoy adventure weekend
Over 90 St John Ambulance Badgers and
Cadets from across Kent enjoyed a weekend of fun and
activities at the charity’s first ever youngsters’
residential weekend held on 7-9 October.
Young people rewarded for dedication
Accompanied by 15 youth leaders, the youngsters were
treated to a weekend of non-stop fun at the newly
refurbished Grosvenor Hall in Ashford, with activities including
quad biking, archery, go-karting and laser
games.
Alan Maycock, Principal Youth Officer for St
John Ambulance Kent says: ‘With children ranging from 8 to 18
it was important there was something for everyone to enjoy and they
all returned home having had a great time, but also having
challenged themselves to try something new.’
The weekend was paid for by contributions from parents, with the
remainder of funds being provided by their division and St John
Ambulance Kent at county level, as a thank you for the
Cadet and Badgers’ unswerving commitment and enthusiasm to
the charity.
Alan continues, ‘It was a pleasure to see so many young people
working together with cadets from other divisions who they had not
met before. Teamwork was very evident throughout the
weekend and a number of potential leaders shone through.
We are very proud of everyone that attended.’
