Lancashire Shoppers Help Raise Funds
Kind-hearted Morrisons customers from
across Lancashire took time out from their shopping to help
raise £5,462.95, enabling volunteers to continue with
their life saving work in the community.
As part of a national initiative, Morrisons stores nationwide
invited St John Ambulance volunteers to fundraise over the weekend
of 16th-18th April. Volunteers were overwelmed with the
support and generosity shown by the shoppers of
Lancashire.
Morrisons Communications Controller, Colin Middlemiss said:
'Helping charities like St John Ambulance is an important part of
our work in local communities, our customers have once again shown
their support and we are delighted that they have raised so much
money for this very worthwhile cause.'
I would like to thank the kind and caring customers of Morrisons and the staff at their stores across Lancashire. The generosity of people who donated during the collections really does make a difference.

County Fundraising Officer, Lancashire
During the weekend volunteers provided CPR demonstrations and
Bertie Badger was on hand to provide entertainment. The funds
raised will be used within the local Units to further develop the
volunteers skills and enhance their knowledge so they will be able
to continue helping people in need within the community such as
fairs, charity marathons and family days.
Alexandra Preston, County Fundraising Officer at St John
Ambulance Lancashire, said: 'I would like to thank the kind
and caring customers of Morrisons and the staff at their stores
across Lancashire. Each year there are up to 150,000
needless deaths where first aid could have made the difference
between a life saved and a life lost. This has to stop and
the generosity of people who donated during the collections really
does make a difference.'
