A&E Ambulance and HDU Service

St John Crew attending a RTA

We provide A&E ambulances with trained advanced Emergency Transport Attendants. These crew can attend emergency calls in addition to transporting stable/unstable patients between home and or hospital.

We also transport specialist clinical teams who accompany seriously ill patients en route.

All ambulances are equipped to A&E standards:

  • 12 lead ECG facilities
  • SP02 SAT'S monitors
  • Semi-automated defibrillators
  • Automatic and manual blood pressure kits
  • Full immobilisation equipment including extrication jackets
  • Piped oxygen with two outlets
  • Analgesic gas

In an emergency situation, authorised crews can use blue lights. Our emergency service is safe, dependable and used heavily by many NHS Trusts. St John Ambulance is the official ambulance reserve service to the emergency services in time of crisis.
