Volunteering in Lancashire
No matter how old you are, or what level of experience you have,
Lancashire is always looking for new volunteers.
In Lancashire we currently have:
- 512 adult volunteers.
- 591 volunteers under the age of 18.
In 2009, our volunteers gave over 51,595 voluntary
hours.
As the leading first aid charity, first aid volunteers
are always needed, however there are several other roles
within the organisation which we need help with. Whether
you can give just a few hours or more, we would love to hear from
you.
First Aiders
Our first aiders go out into the community and provide
life saving treatment at events across the
county. Recent events in Lancashire have included:
- Blackpool Illuminations
- Jane Tomlinson Events
- Lytham Proms
- International Cyclo Championship
- Chorley Gala
- Garstang Show
- Blackpool FC, Blackburn Rovers, Preston North End, Burnley
FC
St John Ambulance provides all the training you
need to effectively help people in need
while offering a socialable and friendly way to spend some of
your free time.
Youth
St John Ambulance Lancashire has lots to offer young
people within the county.
- Badgers - 5 to 10 years old.
- Cadets - 10 to 18 years old.
- LINKS - for students at The
University of Central Lancashire
Support Roles
To help the county run smoothly, we always require
support from volunteers to help with the planning and
execution of activities. These roles include:
- Unit Treasurers
- Administration
- Trainers
- Fundraisers
- Youth Leaders
