Prestigious award for 'excellent Cadet'
Leading Cadet Fiona (pictured), from
Rothley Cadets, has today been awarded the county’s most
prestigious Cadet award – County Cadet of the Year,
2009/10.
Brilliant
Cadets attended from all over the county to be put through their
paces in a gruelling and challenging day. Testing
not only their knowledge of St John Ambulance, but also their
leadership and communication skills, Edwina Timms, Commissioner
(Youth) said that ‘everyone was brilliant, and it
really was very hard to pick just one winner’.

Fiona who was last
year’s Deputy County Cadet of the Year, will now go forward to
represent Leicestershire and Rutland at the St John Ambulance
National Cadet of the Year competitions, to take place later in the
year.
Cadet Sergeant Matthew (pictured), from
Leicester Cadets was selected as the county’s Deputy County Cadet
of the Year. Matthew will assist Fiona in representing
Cadets across Leicestershire and Rutland at a
range of events over the course of the year.
