First aider on hand at a festival

Be part of it

Are you looking for something a bit different to do in your free time? Do you want to learn a new skill? Do you want to give something back to your local community? Then why not join our enthusiastic and vibrant team of volunteers?

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, some are doctors, nurses, and paramedics, and have been working in a health related enviroment for years. For others, joining St John Ambulance is their first contact with a medical organisation.

Progression

Whatever your experience you can join and progress into whatever area you are interested in, at a speed that is right for you. Furthermore you don't have to do first aid, or wear a uniform if you don't want to, and as not all roles require direct patient contact, we can even find a role for people who are perhaps a bit squemish!

Youth

Nationally we have over 40,000 volunteers and over  half are under 25, this is also true for Leicestershire and Rutland. We are very youth focused, and believe in a society where every young person has the opportunity to make a real difference in their community, to speak out on what matters to them and to help others in need of support and development.

If you think you have what it takes to help us and be one of our youth leaders why not contact us for more information?

Young people

Perhaps you are a young person aged 5 -17, and looking for a hobby where you get to do something a bit different, are you applying for jobs or university and looking to make your CV shine? Why not find your local unit, and join us. Not only will you get to learn some new skills as part of a fun and exciting programme, but you'll get to go to events for free, now how many hobbies offer that?
