Support work

Fundraising event

Perhaps you're not interested in hands on first aid, or maybe you don't want to wear a uniform but still want to volunteer with us? Well we're always looking for people just like you to join our team!

Hospital library

During WWII our volunteers provided a hospital library service, but did you know that we still do this now?

Every week a small but dedicated group of volunteers give up a couple of hours to visit the three hospitals in Leicester, providing hundered's of patients with books to read and a friendly face. If you have some books you'd like to donate, or if you'd like to donate your time, maybe only an hour a month we'd love to hear from you

Radio communication

At our larger events we provide a dedicated radio control and communications centre. We are always looking for people who are able to keep a level head when things get busy, can co-ordinate resources, and liaise effectively with other agencies. Full training is provided.

Fundraising

As a charity St John Ambulance has to effectively make it's own money. Some of our income is from event organisers for the provision of our services at events; however this only goes so far in training and equipping our members with what they need to help others in need. If you have a flair for fundraising and would be interested in helping us then why not join our team?

Training

We believe that everyone should recieve first aid from those around them, no one should suffer from a lack of trained first aiders. We are always pleased to hear from people who want to help us train people in first aid and emergency aid, teaching others how to save a life.

Logistics

A very valuable role, and something that requires a certain skill at being organised and proactive. If you think you could help us with moving vehicles, equipment and helping us to set up at some major events including the British MotoGP and Leicester Marathon then contact us and we'll be more than happy to hear from you.
