First aid volunteers
All our first aiders and ambulance crews
are volunteers who give their time willing to help support the
local area. Could you join their ranks?
Training
Our members meet each Monday evening for training sessions to
help develop new skills, or to refine existing
ones. All our training is delivered by a mixture
of experienced lay members or health care professionals.
St John Ambulance
offers a range of courses to suit the needs and ambitions of our
members, these include:
- Activity first aid
- Moving and handling casualties
- Medical gas administration
- Emergency Transport Attendants course
Teamwork
A vital part of volunteering with St John Ambulance is
teamwork. To help encourage this our training sessions
regularly involve realistic mock incidents where
our members have to work together.
We also have a number of social events
throughout the year so we can get to know each
other better.
Commitment
We recognise that different people have different circumstances,
so all we ask is that you give a few hours each month to attend
training sessions and provide services within the community.
Stamford division believes in zero-cost volunteering, with
uniform provided for our members and mileage expenses offered.
