Young people in Stamford
Young people aged 10-16 who want to get
involved in the exciting opportunities available in St John
Ambulance can become members of our Cadet section.
Learning new skills
At our weekly meetings Stamford Cadets take part in a full and
interactive programme, working towards their Grand Prior Award. Recently Stamford
Cadets have been learning new skills in:
- First aid
- Radio communications
- Walking
- Personal safety.
Helping the community
Our
Cadets can often be found working alongside members of the adult
section, helping the local community by putting their first
aid skills into practise at a range of local events
including:
- Burghley Horse Trials
- Riverside Music Festival
- Castle Bytham Midsummer
- Uffington Scarecrow Festival.
Cadets also take part in a diverse range of fundraising
activities, raising hundreds of pounds at car washes and
open gardens.
Getting more involved
But this is not the limit, our Cadets have embraced the
opportunities available to them. They regularly take part in
activities such as:
- Lincolnshire night hike
- County and unit camps
- Trips in the local area and more further afield.
All of these activities help them develop their team
work skills, confidence and allow them to establish long
lasting friendships with Cadets from other areas
Stamford Cadets meet on Monday evenings, contact us by
