Volunteers can get involved with St John Ambulance in a number of different ways. It could be wearing a uniform and providing direct care or contributing specialist knowledge and expertise.

Age and background are not important – everyone is welcome at St John Ambulance, and as little as a couple of hours a week can make a difference.

We have the right role for you in the St John Ambulance family:

  • First aiders - You could find yourself as part of an ambulance crew or on our cycle response team - offering first aid support at major events in your community.
  • Support roles - Helping to train others, raising funds, catering for other hungry volunteers or applying your office skills, our behind the scenes support roles could be for you.
  • Youth leaders - Inspiring youngsters to develop their talents, build confidence and learn to help others, our louth leaders really are pillars of the community.
  • Community First Responders - Be first on the scene of emergencies administering life saving first aid.
  • Specialist units - Our specialised units make the most of your skills- could you be on the motorcycle response team or join our marine unit?
  • Young people - If you’re aged five or above you can join St John Ambulance to learn valuable skills and have lots of fun.
