We have the right role for you in the St John Ambulance family:

  • First aiders - You could find yourself as part of an ambulance crew or on our cycle response team - offering first aid support at major events in your community.
  • Support roles - Helping to train others, raising funds, catering for other hungry volunteers or applying your office skills, our behind the scenes support roles could be for you.
  • Youth leaders - Inspiring youngsters to develop their talents, build confidence and learn to help others, our louth leaders really are pillars of the community.
  • Community First Responders - Be first on the scene of emergencies administering life saving first aid.
  • Specialist units - Our specialised units make the most of your skills- could you be on the motorcycle response team or join our marine unit?
  • Young people - If you’re aged five or above you can join St John Ambulance to learn valuable skills and have lots of fun.

Due to a major increase in the number of people applying for volunteer membership, if you register with us, we will be placing your name on our waiting list at this stage. However do not despair, we will contact you again once we start accepting new volunteers. Alternatively, please check this page again in at the end of April 2012 for an update before enquiring.

For Cadet (10 - 18 year olds) and Badger (5 - 10 year olds) enquiries:

It is advised that you contact your local unit  directly in order to make an appointment to meet with the Unit Leader. The dedicated phone number is listed on the unit's page. Alternatively, please visit the unit during one of their meeting nights.
