City 'Master' cycles to
Paris to raise thousands for London
District.
Stanley Liu, the current Master of The
Lime Street Ward Club of The City of London, handed over thousands
of pounds to St John Ambulance London District after a
gruelling charitable cycle ride.
A tough cycling quest
Mr Liu, who took over the Master post in
February this year, set out to raise money for the first aid
charity within London, by initiating a packed programme of events
and activities.
His objective is to provide
bursaries for leadership training for cadets within the
organisation, to help them develop their own skills and to bring on
other young people in the heart of the Capital, but particularly in
areas where youth opportunities are scarce.
The tough cycling quest began earlier in the
summer and saw him pedal 473km between London and
Paris. His efforts were sufficient to raise an
impressive £3,200.
The money raised will play a major part in developing our young people.

CEO - St John Ambulance London (Prince of Wales's) District
Speaking of the challenge, Mr Liu said: 'It
was certainly tough at times, but I met great people and the
camaraderie was fantastic.
'It was all in the name of a very worthwhile
charitable mission so I'm mad enough to say I would do it
again.'
Len Bamber, CEO of St John Ambulance London
District, said: 'This was an incredibly generous and impressive
fundraising achievement by Mr Liu and we are enormously grateful to
him for going to such great lengths.
'The money raised will play a major part in
developing more young people in the organisation, and in helping us
to continue to make the difference to so many lives within the
capital.'
