trailer
The Cycle Response Team have been
involved in a BBC promotional
trailer about the Royal Wedding which is being aired regularly
between programmes ahead of the main event on April 29.
Hundreds prepare to provide first aid cover along route
Thousands of well-wishers are expected to line the route of the
procession from Buckingham Palace, along the Mall and past
Parliament Square to Westminster Abbey, and St John Ambulance
members will be in place along the route to make sure that first
aid is available to anyone who needs treatment.
St John Ambulance will deploy about
700 first aid Volunteers to provide first aid cover for the
huge crowds expected to gather along the route of the
wedding procession when Prince William and Kate Middleton marry
later this month.
Twenty-two treatment centres will be set up
to cover the whole event, and 20 crewed ambulances will be on hand
to transport anyone needing further treatment to hospital, making
sure that the charity is able to be the difference
by giving first aid treatment to everyone who needs it.
Proud to be involved
Ann Cable, commissioner of St John Ambulance London (Prince of
Wales') District said:
'We are delighted and proud to be involved in the celebrations
of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. We hope this
will be a memorable and joyous occasion for everyone who comes to
enjoy the unique celebrations, and our trained volunteers will be
on hand to make sure it is an event to remember for all the right
reasons.'
St John Ambulance's staff and members have
been organising cover for the Royal Wedding for several months, and
ambulances will be on the scene from the early hours of the morning
to make sure the gathering crowds have access to first aid
care.
St John Ambulance will be working alongside
London Ambulance Service and the British Red Cross throughout
the event.
