Volunteers honoured at local ceremonies
St John Ambulance Members have been
honoured for their hard work and commitment to Division and Units
across London.
Demonstrating Outstanding Service in 2010

As well as the annual London
District awards and medals ceremony, local award
presentations have taken place in recent weeks.
In Hillingdon, new Cadets were enrolled and
promotion warrants were presented to Kieron Mulligan and Zeina
Abu-Abdo as Cadet Corporals and to Tony Lunn as Corporal. Callum
Portugal-Walker was awarded as Best New Cadet and Kieron Mulligan
received the Amy Chandler Cup for the Cadet.
Honouring dedicated members
Thirteen Members of South Hillingdon
Division were recognised for having given more than 500
hours of service in 2010 and the Division was presented with a
certificate for a combined total of more than 12,000 hours of
service in 2010. Special awards included a plaque to the stewards
of the Battle of Britain Club in appreciation of their support, an
engraved silver tray to former Unit Leader Margaret Griffiths for
her inspirational leadership and ongoing support. Margaret was also
presented with the Hillingdon Gold Pin for Volunteering by the
Mayor for her exceptional work in the Borough.
Edmonton Division held its first event
to publicly thank and reward its Members in November. More
than 50 certificates were given to Members who had completed
courses as well as other awards for maintaining efficiency for the
year. Sam Gash received the special Gould Trophy for exemplary
service to the Division.
Highgate Division’s second awards
ceremony was also held in November. Awards were presented
for both 2010 and 2011 to: Makaeda Ennis-White (Badger of the
Year), Thomas Delaney (The Bertie First Aid and Care Award), Leyla
Durmaz (2010) and Lee Smyth-Pavey (2011) (The President’s Cadets
Efficiency Award), Martin Spencley (2010) and Hannnah Smyth (2011)
(Cadet Webster Leadership Award), Joan Massey (2010) and Martin
Mwaka (2011) (Adult Webster Leadership Award), Alex Snow (2010) and
John Irwin (2011) (The President’s Adult Leadership Award), Charlie
Weeks-Bell (2010) and Michael Attwell (2011) (The Ambulance Aid
Award) and Ruth Rayers RN (presented posthumously for 2010) and
Heather Graham (2011) (The Davis First Aid Award).
