As London prepares to host the Olympic Games next summer, St John Ambulance London (Prince of Wales’s) District is pleased to announce its involvement with ten road events.

St John Ambulance has been confirmed as the first aid supplier for spectators at all ten Olympic road race events – the men’s and women’s marathons, race walks, triathlons, road cycling and time trial cycling.

Supporting our regular commitments

As well as covering Olympic events next year, the Charity will be supporting its regular sporting commitments, including the Virgin London Marathon, Wimbledon and large community events like the Notting Hill Carnival.

The 2012 celebrations in London will also include Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and St John Ambulance’s preparation for Jubilee events is already well under way.

This includes the Thames Diamond Jubilee River Pageant, which will be a spectacular event with more than 1,000 boats on the river and a million people lining the banks, as well as the State Pageant and concert.

Delighted to be involved with the London Olympic Games

Ann Cable, Commissioner of St John Ambulance London (Prince of Wales’s) District, said: ‘We are delighted that our involvement with the London Olympic Games has been confirmed.

2012 is going to be a very busy year for London District and we’re determined to make it one of our best ever. We’re already very busy making sure we will have the necessary resources and people to be the difference between lives lost and lives saved.’
