Volunteers treat hundreds as London welcomes
2012
Volunteers from St John Ambulance London
(Prince of Wales’s) District treated more than 400 people during
the New Year’s Eve celebrations in central London.
On duty throughout the night
As well as providing first aid in treatment centres, the charity
worked with London Ambulance Service to transport 106
patients to hospital and the Mobile Response Teams
responded to 415 calls.
About 250 St John Ambulance volunteers and staff were on
duty until around 6am to make sure that first aid was
available to anyone who needed it.
Proven commitment
Ann Cable, Commissioner of St John Ambulance
London (Prince of Wales’s) District, said: ‘We are incredibly proud
of all our volunteers. Their commitment to St John Ambulance is
truly proven when they work all hours through the New Year
celebrations.’
