National Schools' First Aid Competition 2010
Youngsters from across the Capital have been battling it
out for a place in the final of the St John
Ambulance National Schools First Aid Competition.
The London heat
This year’s London heat took place at Scout Park in Bounds Green
and saw 18 teams enter the contest from a variety
of junior and senior schools.
Top of the leader board at the end of the competition was St
Mary's Catholic Primary School (Romford) for the Junior entry and
Drayton Manor (Ealing) for the Seniors. This years runners up were
Henry Cavendish (Lambeth) and Nonsuch High
(Sutton) respectively.
The contest saw the youngsters perform in a variety of
scenarios, including treating nose-bleeds, shock and burns. The
winning teams will now go through to the national
final which will be held on 23rd June at the
Natural History Museum.
This was a great event and saw some fantastic skills demonstrated by the young people. We always say that you are never too young to learn first aid and these pupils are proof of that.
