London (Prince of Wales) DistrictVolunteers prepare for Lord Mayor’s Show

Volunteers from St John Ambulance London (Prince of Wales’s) District are getting ready for one of the City’s biggest spectacles of the year – the Lord Mayor’s Show.

Taking part in the celebrations

London volunteers are busy putting the finishing touches to their preparations for this year's Lord Mayor's Show.

At least 200 St John Ambulance members will be on duty at various points along the route of the Lord Mayor’s Show Parade. A number of Badgers, Cadets and Adults will also be taking part in the parade on Saturday November 12.

The Lord Mayor’s Show celebrates the new Lord Mayor of the City of London taking up office and the three-mile long procession is made up of floats, marching bands, service men and women and community groups.

Demonstrating how St John Ambulance can be the difference

The full scope of St John Ambulance’s presence will be on show, with the Charity’s new Marine Unit boat being pulled along the route by members. This will be followed by a number of the organisation’s vehicles, including an ambulance and members of the Cycle and Motorcycle Response Units.

While volunteers are taking part in the parade, St John Ambulance members will be on duty along the parade route to make sure that first aid is available to anyone who needs it.

The Charity will set up eight treatment centres along the procession route and a further two treatment centres will be in place by Victoria Embankment and Waterloo Bridge for the evening fireworks display.
