Youngsters from St John Ambulance London (Prince of Wales’s) District’s Woolwich Cadet and Badger groups will be taking part in a parade through Greenwich.

Cadets and Badgers from Woolwich Division.

The parade, on  5 February, is part of a weekend of celebrations to celebrate Greenwich becoming the fourth Royal Borough alongside Kensington and Chelsea, Kingston and Windsor and Maidenhead.

In addition to taking part in the parade, Members from St John Ambulance will be on duty providing first aid care for spectators and participants.

Very excited

Liz George, Divisional Officer and Unit Leader for Woolwich Cadets, said: ‘Our Cadets and Badgers are very excited about being in the parade.

Our Cadets are very active in the community so it is great for them to be involved in these celebrations. Our Badger Sett is new this year so it is particularly special for those children to be part of the parade.’

Volunteers from St John Ambulance London (Prince of Wales’s) District will also be on duty providing first aid cover at celebratory events in Eltham on Saturday 4 February.

Great opportunity

Ann Cable, Commissioner of St John Ambulance London (Prince of Wales’s) District, said: ‘We are one of the UK’s biggest youth organisations and we’re very proud of the role which our Cadets and Badgers play in their local communities.

‘This celebratory parade will be a great opportunity for these young people to show everyone the hard work and commitment they put into being part of St John Ambulance.’
