Andrew Dawson, Assistant County Commissioner said: ‘We are very pleased to be supporting our colleagues from the statutory ambulance service in providing quality services to the residents of Oxfordshire during New Year's Eve. The professionalism and dedication of our fully qualified volunteer ambulance crews and the first aiders can always be counted upon in times of heavy demand on the emergency services.'

'We know from past experience that while people are enjoying the New Year celebrations there is the potential for a high number of first aid incidents. We want to make sure people can carry on enjoying the fun of the night, so we organised a large team to be present to help care for those that needed us. St John Ambulance volunteers are committed to caring for their communities – no matter what the occasion.'
